Ushers
The Usher ministry includes not only the sanctuary ushers, but parking ushers as well. There are more than 10 men included in the usher ministry, with more than 4 men serving at each service. Ushers serve as doorkeepers during all services and special events.
Maintaining order and orchestrating movement during services is important, thus establishing the usher as a "watchman on the wall." The New Life Tabernacle usher is considered to be a guardian or protector of God's anointing by being the one who prevents needless human interruptions. It is also the goal of each member of the team to maintain hospitable dignity in responding to the needs of the guests of New Life Tabernacle.
Another important responsibility of all ushers is to act as members of a public relations department for Pastor by representing the church as friendly, warm, and inviting to each individual that comes through the doors of New Life Tabernacle.
Ushers seek to impact every guest with love and efficiency by: warmly welcoming each guest with outstretched hand and a smile; seating each guest in a comfortable, accessible seat; providing guests with a copy of our Welcome Packet and other available printed material; introducing guests to the person with whom they are seated; and inviting guests to return to New Life Tabernacle.
An usher must demonstrate the following qualities:
- a servant attitude
- friendliness with a smile
- compassion and sensitivity
- loyalty to the pastor, doctrine, and church
- a love for souls
If you are a visitor to New Life Tabernacle--or part of the New Life Tabernacle family--please feel free to ask for assistance from any usher. We would be happy to answer your questions or assist you whenever possible!
Psalm 84: 10
“For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.”
Hostesses
Hostesses are among the first contacts a guest will make when entering New Life Tabernacle. The members of this Guest Relations Team strive to create an atmosphere of genuine love, concern, and care while establishing a positive relationship with our guests.
Hostesses acquire the name, address, and phone number of each guest, which will be used by the Visitor Follow-Up ministry. Creating a positive first impression, hostesses greet guests, help adults and children locate their classes, and connect guests with family or friends. The Hostess Department works in conjunction with the Usher Department to seat guests and attend to any special needs.
The hostesses encourage spiritual growth by praying with guests and answering questions when appropriate. As guests leave, it is the goal of each hostess to once again acknowledge the guest and extend a personal invitation to return to future services or special events.
All hostesses must demonstrate the following qualities:
- a servant attitude
- friendliness with a ready smile
- compassion and sensitivity
- self-confidence to initiate conversation
- loyalty to the church and to the pastor of New Life Tabernacle and the doctrine
- a heart for soul winning and discipleship
If you are a visitor of New Life Tabernacle--or part of the New Life Tabernacle family--please feel free to ask for assistance from any hostess. We would be happy to answer your questions or assist you whenever possible!
