The Visitor Follow-Up Ministry attempts to visit or call each person that has attended a church service, using the name, address, and phone numbers acquired by the hostesses. Follow-ups are completed to show the concern and care of the church for each soul.
Whenever someone visits New Life Tabernacle for the first time, the procedure for contacting visitors is as follows:
- Following that visit, their name is added to a list of visitors. Members of this ministry obtain the list of names from the church office.
- Next, the names are assigned to the person responsible for telephoning visitors and/or the people who have accepted responsibility for a particular area.
- Members of the Visitor Follow-Up either call or visit each person who has been assigned to them. The purpose of this contact is to establish a return visit to New Life Tabernacle, answer questions, discuss scriptures, or provide any other information the visitor might need as he/she pursues the Lord.
In order to become part of the Visitor Follow-Up Ministry, potential workers must have completed The Abundant Life Class. They must also be people-oriented and show compassion. Workers should be able to follow through, showing care and concern. Finally, individuals who join this ministry must feel a sense of responsibility as the names are assigned and be willing to make a commitment to follow through individually.
Once individuals from the community have attended New Life Tabernacle, they need for the church to reach out to them and welcome them back time and time again. Ultimately, visitors need to be linked with the programs of the New Life Tabernacle, such as Abundant Life Class, which is designed for New Life members. The Visitor Follow-Up provides the connection between the world of the visitor and the world of New Life Tabernacle.
